About Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month

This year, nearly 16,000 children will receive the devastating diagnosis of cancer. While the outcomes in pediatric cancer have greatly improved in the past several decades due to philanthropic investments in research, many forms of aggressive cancer still exist, and pediatric cancer remains one of the top three leading causes of death in children under 14 in the United States.

UPMC Children’s Hospital treats more than 1,000 patients each year. Leading the way in childhood neurologic cancer and clinical research, UPMC Children’s is noted as one of the Top 20 pediatric cancer programs in the United States.

To learn more about what your donations mean to kids in and around the Pittsburgh-area, join us this September to help fight Pediatric Cancer!

WWE Connor's Cure

Connor’s Cure was created in honor of 8-year-old Connor Michalek, who battled medulloblastoma, a rare tumor that affects the brain and spinal cord. WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon and her husband WWE Executive Vice President Global Talent Strategy & Development Paul “Triple H” Levesque established Connor’s Cure as a fund within Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation. A portion of funds raised through Connor’s Cure supports pediatric brain and spinal cord cancer research.
