Providing Expert Behavioral Health Care Where and When Kids Need It

The photos on this webpage feature UPMC Children’s patients. To protect privacy, no behavioral health patients are depicted.

The need for pediatric behavioral health services is growing at an unprecedented rate. Your support helps UPMC Children’s deliver timely, expert care to children, teens, and families — where and when they need it.

Why ‘Behavioral’ Health?

At UPMC Children’s, we use the term behavioral health because it reflects the full scope of care children need — addressing not only emotional and mental well-being, but also the behaviors that shape healthy development, such as coping skills, sleep, eating habits, and social connection. Philanthropy fuels this comprehensive approach, helping every child and family thrive.

Our Vision for Children’s South

UPMC Children’s has been strategically expanding pediatric behavioral health services to meet the growing need in our region, and now, we are developing a new behavioral health and clinical care hub at Children’s South in Bridgeville.

The fourth floor of this facility will become a collaborative, family-centered space providing behavioral health services and high-demand specialties side-by-side, offering convenient, accessible care to children, teens, and families.

Donors Are Helping Expand Access
to Behavioral Health Services

Over the past few years, philanthropy has empowered UPMC Children’s to launch initiatives designed to expand access and enhance care for children and families, such as:

Embedded Behavioral Health Specialists providing diagnosis-specific support, as well as support for challenges like anger, anxiety, and depression.

The Whole Child Wellness Clinic, a first-of-its-kind clinic uniting primary care and child and adolescent psychiatry for children with complex needs.

Behavioral Health Walk-In Clinics offering children one-time, non-emergency interventions for mental health concerns, no appointments required.
