Endowed Fund

Endowments have sustained and built Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and will help to secure its future.

They provide a firm financial foundation that affects children and families long after the initial gift is made.

Endowment dollars are vital because they generate income, a portion of which is available year after year to sustain the highest quality of patient care, education and research, while the rest of the income is re-invested to build the fund.

Endowments provide lasting support for the work of the hospital and serve as a meaningful way for individuals, corporations or foundations to leave a lasting legacy.

Endowed funds can be established with gifts from $100,000 to multi-million dollar gifts. Endowments can be established with a lesser gift; however, income will not be distributed until the fund reaches $100,000. When an endowment is established, an agreement is drawn up to provide clear and lasting documentation of the donor’s wishes. Additional gifts can be made to an established endowment at any time.
