Frank LeMoyne Society

Every gift helps the hospital, regardless of the amount, but a significant gift can transform a clinical or community program or research project in ways that have a profound effect.

Your giving becomes a personal or family legacy and is an investment whose return is measured in lives.

Dr. Frank LeMoyne envisioned a special place for sick children, one that would be dedicated solely to meeting their needs. In 1883, his son Kirk and other members of the western Pennsylvania community decided to make his vision a reality, raising $3,000 to endow a cot for children at a local hospital. Several years later, in June 1890, the 15-bed Pittsburgh Hospital for Children admitted its first patients. Dr. LeMoyne’s commitment to children is still alive today at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. To honor his vision and memory, we recognize individual donors who contribute $1,000 – $9,999 as members of the Frank LeMoyne Society.
